I love how much y'all curse. It's fucking awesome. I'm in Facebook groups where we practically challenge each other to swear creatively. I started in fifth grade, when my friends did, and finally asked my father to allow "moderate" cursing in the house when I was sixteen. When something really screws with me I say things like "I got ass fucked without lube"---a particularly colorful favorite that has a hashtag among some of my friends--#ULAL, or unlubed anal love. Fuckery and twatwafflage is a fun description of fucked-up situations. And OMG, saying "twat" seems to rile people up more than saying fuck! My son is autistic and echolalic, and his father swears mercilessly. So he started employing the word, correctly but without understanding its value. I tried to teach him not to say Fuck, but all I got for my efforts was him repeating the phrase "don't say fuck" at me when he sees me. Now that he's 16, even though he still doesn't comprehend the power of the word, I've decided to leave it be and just try to teach him to use it appropriately. My friends and I will call each other bitch or whore with affection, choosing to own the words. Honestly, people who go to a convention without expecting y'all to be real clearly have not put in the fandom time to get to know who you are publicly. Jesus fucking Christ is my go-to for everyday frustrations. Or bloody hell, which has far less power here than I hear it has in the UK.

Boundaries for me became very important during my divorce. I am a people pleasing fixer and my mentally abusive ex used that to his full advantage. Learning to say No, and that No is a complete sentence was a very important step into the world of boundaries for me. Setting boundaries as to what I will respond to and what I will react to was HUGE in releasing me from his control and finding my own. I learned my limits and it's helped in many areas of my life.
