As someone who suffered from anxiety and agoraphobia for over 20 years I really identified with this one. The physiological reactions your body goes through are exactly the same in a panic attack as they are in an actual scary event. Medically, they are identical. In one case your body is responding to an actual scary event, the other is your mind perceiving something as being scary. This is part of the reason they can be so difficult to overcome. But you can do it!! It does take practice but with therapy (and sometimes medication) it can be done! Thank you for discussing this topic.

My mom was very worried about toxic shock syndrome, so she never bought me tampons. I still wear pads because that's what im used too. Oh and, 27, still a virgin.

Love this one! My fears have always been needles and spiders ever since I was 6. I got bit by a spider and had to go to the ER where they couldn't find a vein so they stuck me like 10 times until they did! As an adult I have this fear of being a bother to people. And it can be my family, friends and boyfriend whom I know love me and love being around me but I just feel I'm too much for them sometimes. Maybe it's because I'm a very passionate opinionated person so I think that scares them or they don't agree therefore makes me fear that I'm a bother. Crazy to really decipher our fears and how they have come about in the first place!

Another great talk. When I was younger, I liked to watch old black and white movies. Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Alfred Hitchcock. My son, when he was about 8, really wanted to watch Blade with Wesley Snipes. I said, let me watch it first and let you know. Well, we came to a compromise. I started the movie in my room. I would pause it when it got to a part that was about to be bloody. He didn't get to watch much of the movie, but loved it. I asked him when he was older and he got to watch the whole movie if he was okay with the way he originally saw it. He told me he would have been scared and he was glad the way I did it. My daughter liked scary movies and the first one we saw together scared the poo out of me. She asked me why. I told her the scary movies I liked did not show that much blood and gore. By the way, 'Birds' still scares me. Lol

You guys are awesome. I have SO much to say, but the Ghost Hunters episode Briana talked about - with the chair moving - was them being at the Stanley Hotel, Stephen King's inspiration for The Shining. Lol

I love how you guys talked a little about fear and anxiety. As a person who suffers from general anxiety disorder, it is impossible to convince myself that everything is okay once I have this unwanted thought in my head. Imaginative/spiritual fear is by far the worse because sometimes, it can be triggered by an event. In my case, I lost my grandmother to lung cancer and it had a huge impact on me to the point I was suffering from anxiety attacks for literally 3 months.
